Year 4 Trip to Cité de l'Histoire
This week, all of us in Year 4 went on a time travelling journey at La Cité de l’Historie in La Défense. The children started their visit by watching an immersive 360° film about the Three Musketeers. They then became time travellers and went on a journey through some of the most important events in the History of France.
We started in the 1980s, when the Walkman was used to listen to music and people used floppy discs in their computers.
We met Charles de Gaulle, then we witnessed the derailment of a train by the French Resistance in the Second World War.
We continued our journey reliving the battle of Verdun, where over 50 million shells were fired. The children loved the real life actors and they took part in a Geography class from the early 1900s as well as a sword fight with Jeanne d'Arc.
We all got a bit of a fright when we moved into the 8th Century as we were mistaken for Vikings! We then had to hide from the Viking boats arriving from the river.
