Head of Mathematics

The Headmaster, Nicholas Hammond, is seeking to appoint a well-qualified, experienced, and highly motivated Head of Mathematics.

To start in September 2024 - Full-time and permanent post.

Applicants should have a sound understanding of the subject, wide experience of teaching at all levels and the ability to support and lead colleagues in the development of teaching in this area. We aim to fulfil the academic potential of all our pupils, whilst fostering a passion for the subject. This is a popular option and pupils have an excellent record of success on this course.

Within the Faculty, the Head of Maths will ensure mathematics is taught at high standard throughout the diversity of age and ability range.

Candidates should have sound experience of A Level Mathematics teaching. We currently follow AQA specifications for GCSE and A Level Mathematics. The Maths department offers extension possibilities through participation in the UK Maths Trust individual and team competitions.

Supply French Teacher - Senior School (sick leave cover)

Headmaster Mr Nicholas Hammond is seeking to appoint a Senior School supply French Teacher to start as soon as possible.

Part-time and temporary post (sick leave cover).

The British School of Paris is a non-selective co-educational school which provides British education of a high quality to an international student clientele.

We are looking for a suitably experienced French teacher to join the Languages department for a temporary cover Monday to Thursday and teach 20 periods in French (i.e 10 hours per week) to KS3, KS4 and KS5 classes.

The successful candidates will show dynamism and flexibility, will have to ensure continuity in the educational experience of the students. They should also demonstrate an understanding of effective differentiation.

All applicants must be fully qualified teachers with recent experience of the national curriculum of England and Wales, a strength/specialism for teaching French and must hold a valid EU passport or have already obtained a French work permit.

What are we looking for in a supply teacher?

A university degree with a PGCE, or Bachelor of Education.
A recent experience of classroom teaching, preferably in a school following the National Curriculum of England & Wales.

Living in Paris area, willing and able to commute to Croissy-sur-Seine at short notice.
