On Thursday June 18th the Senior School celebrated its 4th edition of the Fête de la Musique. This is an occasion where anybody who wants to perform in public can do so. Entry is open to all, and there are no formal auditions.
Over 70 pupils and 14 members of staff performed on two stages, one in front of the Morisot Art building and the other next to the main Debussy building. There were solo piano performances, solo guitarists, solo singers, small groups from each year group, the Summer Orchestra, Summer Choir, and the Instrumental Teachers Wind Ensemble.
Our thanks go to every single person who participated in this event, whether as a soloist, a small group member or part of a larger ensemble. The variety of styles and sounds made the event a real success.
Thanks also to the Houses for stage decoration, the Year 12 team who helped with the labelling and signage around the stages, as well as the Year 12 Business students who organised the voting booths for the Battle of the Bands.
