On Wednesday 17th June, parents and students braved the heat and attended the BSP Duke of Edinburgh’s Awards Ceremony 2026. This was an opportunity to recognise the students’ fantastic efforts participating in and completing the Bronze, Silver and Gold Awards.
The Duke of Edinburgh’s Award is a very robust award highly respected by academic institutions and employers because it is:
- Difficult to achieve
- Activities must have clear ‘smart’ goals
- Participation must be continual
- All sections must be completed
- Deadlines are important
- Bronze – minimum 6 months
- Silver – minimum 12 months
- Gold – minimum 18 months
The Duke of Edinburgh’s Award has a variety of positive impacts for our students including:
- Improved employability and earning potential
- Improved physical health and fitness
- Improved mental health and emotional wellbeing
- Increased engagement with charitable and community causes
- Improved environmental impact
- Increased social cohesion
- Reduced offending
A huge thanks to all staff members who worked so hard to ensure the success of our participants.
