This week, the EYFS children enjoyed a fascinating visit to the Senior School bee hives. They were delighted to meet the beekeeper who taught them all about the important work that bees do and how honey is made.
The children were excited to see the hives buzzing with thousands of busy bees and to look closely at the honey-filled frames. Some brave children even had the opportunity to put on special beekeeping suits and get closer to the hives for an unforgettable experience.
They brought some fresh honey back with them and enjoyed tasting it on bread.
The children were thrilled to try honey straight from the hive and there were lots of smiles as they shared their thoughts on this delicious treat.
It was a wonderful hands-on learning experience that helped the children to learn more about nature, pollination and the amazing work of bees.
