Last Friday, the Year 2 corridor buzzed with the lively chatter of interior designers hard at work. The much-anticipated Mouse Caravan workshop was taking place that morning and it did not disappoint. Parents kindly gave up their time to join us and help the children turn their paper designs into 3D homes.
The children had designed and printed wallpaper in ICT, and then they needed to use their measuring and cutting skills to decorate their caravan walls. The children had to divide their caravan into separate areas for sleeping, washing, eating and playing. They then had to create and build their own furniture – no IKEA flat packs on this project! – and make decorations to ensure their homes had mouse appeal.
The creativity on display was wonderful and each and every mouse caravan was fabulous — a worthy home for any mouse! In the afternoon, the children created a whole mouse town and had a great time exploring each other’s creations.
