On Thursday, Year 12 A Level Drama and Theatre Studies pupils had the exciting opportunity to take part in a professional acting workshop at the famous drama school Cours Florent in Paris.
Our pupils were led through various acting techniques and warm-ups by the professional actor Adrien Lemaire. Adrien used extracts from the A Level set text ‘Antigone’ to work through states of tension and objectives with the pupils and introduced them to the new concept of the Laban method of physical acting.
Our pupils worked hard to create some dramatic and believable characterisation. It was great for them to experience drama within the environment of Further Education and professional theatre. The pupils had fun and learned a lot. They were commended by Adrien for their talent and excellent engagement with the workshop. We are hoping to return again next year and hopefully continue to forge a strong relationship with Le Cours Florent.
