The Year 1 children had a wonderful day on Monday when they visited the butterfly farm in La Queue-les-Yvelines. This visit both consolidated and inspired their learning about insects and the children amazed everyone with their knowledge and understanding. The enclosure was a place of wonder and discovery as the children found their courage and confidence when interacting with the beautiful butterflies. It also became a game of hide-and-seek as we looked carefully for the very well-camouflaged caterpillars!

The children also had the opportunity to repot their own plant to take home and encourage insects to visit their gardens.

After a picnic lunch, they travelled to Parc Corbière, where they enjoyed playing in the shade.

The children were a pleasure to take out for the day and the heat did not dampen their enjoyment or interest.
