Our Year 1 children welcomed some of their family members in order to help create dioramas of garden, forest or woodland scenes. The classrooms were a hive of industry as everyone worked together to create their marvellous masterpieces and we were grateful that so many people were able to join us. We even had a grandfather who had travelled from India for the opportunity!
As the children had already painted the inside of their shoeboxes, they were very keen to draw and cut out pictures before sticking them onto the base of their box to make them stand up. They learned that they should stick shorter images at the front and taller ones at the back to get a good effect when they looked through the hole at the front. Adding coloured cellophane to the top of the box added a magical quality to the mystical worlds that had been created.
A big thank you to everyone; it was a lovely session and it was also fun trying to take artistic photos.
