On Wednesday 20th May, Year 8 went to explore Étretat on the Normandy coast. The purpose of their visit was to find out how physical and human processes have helped to shape Étretat, as part of their unit on Coasts.
They used a variety of fieldwork skills, from carrying out Beach Profiles, completing Field Sketches and measuring Footpath Erosion, to completing an Environmental Quality Survey and a Traffic Survey.
Even though the weather started off rather wet, it soon improved. The students showed great resilience and determination in collecting their fieldwork data. Overall, they had a very productive day and were able to enjoy a well earnt ice-cream after all their hard work.
A special thanks to all the staff who helped to support the trip.
