To enrich our Year 2 science and geography learning this term, the Year 2 children spent Monday exploring the Forest of Marly.
Armed with clipboards, we ventured deep into the forest in search of a variety of plants, trees and mini-beasts as well as microhabitats. We found slugs, beetles, snails, ants and woodlice and we even saw a butterfly! We also observed leaves from a variety of trees and spotted lots of different plants and flowers.
After lunch, we had time to play and some fantastic shelters were constructed through great teamwork. Several children built a squirrel feeding post, while others made obstacle courses.
The children behaved impeccably all day and were an absolute pleasure to explore the forest with.
