We are thrilled to announce a proud moment for our Art and Design department. After months of tireless sketching, folding and sewing, three of our students have qualified for the Junk Kouture Paris City Finals with their design called Threads of Humanity.

This prestigious competition challenges students to create high-end fashion using only recycled materials, and our team rose to the occasion with a design that is as intellectually profound as it is visually stunning. The judges particularly liked the link to the Thousand Cranes of Peace, which draws its inspiration from post-WW2 Japanese history. The team explored the tradition of Senbazuru – the belief that folding one thousand origami cranes grants a wish for healing and hope.

The Junk Kouture Paris City Finals will be held on Wednesday 20th May at 5:00pm and will be shown live on Junk Kouture’s YouTube channel.
