This Tuesday, Year 10 GCSE Design & Technology pupils visited Disneyland Paris on a gloriously sunny day. This is a place where good design is at the forefront of absolutely everything – the costumes, the graphics used in signage and packaging, the gifts, the buildings and props, and of course, the rides themselves.

Pupils were given a workbook to complete throughout the day where they had to identify and justify many aspects of the D&T examination curriculum. This included but was not limited to: mechanical forces in action, scales of production, types of motion, automation, sustainability, design for focus groups, smart and modern materials, and technical drawing styles.

Pupils were a credit to the school and completed their workbooks with a high level of detail. They even got to test some of the rides – purely from an educational perspective of course!
