Last weekend, the Under 13 rugby team were part of the school’s trip to Portugal for the Lisbon Junior 7s Tournament.

The boys played two games on both days of the tour against local opposition. We were delighted with the team’s performance, which saw them win all of their games convincingly. The team captain was influential throughout, scoring some fine individual tries as well as creating opportunities for his teammates.

Strong performances also came from experienced rugby players. A special mention must be given to the four Year 7 students selected to play in this tournament, all of whom acquitted themselves admirably. Finally, one of the most pleasing aspects of this tour was to see the progress made by our three less experienced players, all of whom scored their first tries in a competitive match for the BSP.

This tournament was a fantastic experience for our rugby players and we are now looking forward to the end of season tour to the UK in March.
