Gardening

Our Thursday afternoon gardeners have been busy filling their herbarium with various plants, leaves and flowers. They have also had a go at making paper flowers to bring some brightness and colour to the grey days we have had these past weeks.

Mystery Explorers

During recent Thursday activities sessions, our Mystery Explorers have been investigating different possible explanations for claims of paranormal powers, ranging from extrasensory perception to telekinesis.

Students enthusiastically performed a variety of magic tricks demonstrating the possibility that these phenomena could be hoaxes. ESP cards were identified without looking at them, and spoons were mysteriously bent, using conjuring methods rather than clairvoyance or mind over matter.

This week, the class was treated to one student’s outstanding presentation on retrocognition. Her use of psychological research on brain functioning to explain experiences of ‘déjà vu’ was particularly impressive, and she is to be highly congratulated on both her presenting and analytical skills.
