After studying winter in French, the children started making winter crafts. The Year 1s have made their own snow globes using white pastels and watercolour paint, which they can shake. We can’t wait to see the results!

Thursday French lessons have continued to be very special. Nursery, Reception, Year 1 and Year 2 children have enjoyed puppet shows based on stories related to the topic of the week. The children are very attentive and love taking part by singing songs and helping the characters in the story.

Last week’s story was ‘À trois on a moins froid’, which was linked to the topic of winter and this week’s story was ‘La moufle’, which was linked to winter clothes. It was even funnier this week, as the moufle burst at the end of the story and covered the children in confetti!

Year 3 children bring their iPads to French lessons once a week, either to create a PicCollage related to that week’s topic or to play interactive games based on the vocabulary covered in class. This week, they played games to practise their vocabulary and spelling related to pets and ‘j’ai/je n’ai pas de’.

Our French Ambassadors finished their lovely ‘cartes de bonne année’ just in time to give them to the staff. They really appreciated this thoughtful gesture.
