Below is a report from one of our pupils about the recent School Forum in the Junior School:
A School Forum is an important platform where students, teachers and, occasionally, parents can come together to share ideas, discuss concerns and make decisions that affect the school community. It encourages open communication between Years 3, 4, 5 and 6 and Mr Potter.
It also allows everyone to express their opinions in a respectful way, whether positive or negative. Through School Forums, students learn how to voice their thoughts confidently and listen to different perspectives.
School Forums also play a key role in solving problems within the school community. For example, I had a really nice experience at my first School Forum because my class and I discussed the possibility of Year 6 going to lunch first instead of Year 5. Mr Potter considered our suggestion and it was actually implemented. So, if you have something to say, speak up, if you do not it will never happen.
In addition, School Forums help to develop students’ leadership and critical thinking skills. I would like to add that I attended the School Forum twice and really enjoyed it. It was a fantastic experience.
