The U18 Girls’ Rugby Team produced some fantastic performances to claim the silver medal position at the annual BSN Rugby 7s tournament that took place on Friday December 6th. Their first game was against current ISAA champions, The British School in The Netherlands (BSN), who were typically strong and fast. Despite putting up a tremendous defensive fight, the team lost 20 – 5.
With this being their first time together as a team, the girls took away a number of lessons from the BSN game and turned things around superbly to defeat The International School of Brussels (ISB) in the second match 15 – 12.
The team’s third game saw them play The British School of Brussels (BSB). It was a very tight and tense match, but the BSP girls had saved their best rugby and ended up as 10 – 5 winners, despite BSB having had to borrow 2 strong players from BSN due to injuries. All the BSP players stepped up to cement this victory.
With two wins and a loss, the BSP team secured second place, their best ever finish at this tournament. Congratulations to the girls, it was a very impressive result, and they are now looking forward to their home tournament, the BSP Rugby 7s, in February.
