From 2nd to 9th of December, Stand: We Walk Together – our KS4 charity – are raising awareness and money for their campaign to “Give the Gift of Mobility to 1,000 amputees”.

Millions of people in Africa live with limb loss yet most have no access to prosthetic limbs. In Ghana and Tanzania, amputees are shut out of school, work, and daily life, losing their independence and dignity. Meanwhile, thousands of reusable prosthetic legs are discarded each year in the UK, EU, US, and Canada.

In 2026, Stand’s goal is to rescue, refurbish, and deliver 1,000 of these limbs to trusted partners in Ghana and Tanzania to meet this urgent need.

What are we doing at The BSP?

This is a match funding project, so every euro you donate will be doubled. The school’s community shop has already pledged 2,000 euros to this campaign. We are raising additional money this week in our thrift shop, where we will be donating the sale proceeds for the past two weeks to Stand, totalling at least another 500 euros.
