This week, we were delighted to welcome Hollie McNish, acclaimed British poet and author, to the Senior School Library. She delivered readings of her work and spoke to Year 11, 12 and 13 English Language and Literature pupils about her writing process. Her thoughtful insights and engaging delivery were greatly appreciated by both staff and students alike.

Many pupils have since sought out more of Hollie’s poetry, and several have even begun writing creatively themselves – a wonderful outcome of her visit and a habit we hope they keep up.

Pupils loved the opportunity to share their own views on the issues explored in her poetry. They commented on the honesty, accessibility and emotional impact of her work, noting the range of themes she explores and the sincerity with which she writes.

If you are interested in finding out more about Hollie’s work, her performances can be found on Facebook and Instagram under @holliepoetry.

Happy reading!
