The Year 2 children had a wonderful artistic experience working with the local artist, Felicity Kelham. Felicity spent two afternoons with the children, helping them to create pieces of expressive abstract art inspired by the senses.

During the first session, the children used paints, crayons and pastels to create five different pieces of art. These were inspired by listening to music, tasting fruit and walking on marshmallows barefoot!

The second session focused on using intuition to be creative. This time, the prompts came from handling slime, listening to readings about stars and celebrating Yago’s birthday.

The children had an absolutely wonderful time and fully embraced the opportunity to create freely. The intuitive canvases they produced are all unique and they are extremely proud of their efforts.

In the new year, we will hold our own ‘vernissage’ and invite all the Year 2 parents to come and admire our beautiful artwork.

Thank you, Felicity, for inspiring us so much!
