The 5H children were very lucky to have a visit from an expert speaker – a pupil’s parent who works for the World Bank.
She sits on a board that allocates funds to support the UN Sustainable Development Goals. During her talk, she explained what these goals are and how the World Bank is supporting them.
We then had an excellent discussion about ‘gender equality’, which is UN Sustainable Development Goal 5. We were pleased to learn about the positive examples that parents are setting their children at home.
To finish the talk, the guest speaker asked the children how they could support the goals. They suggested turning the lights off, not wasting water, listening to the teacher and being friendly.
