Before their trip to La Ferme de Gally, Year 2 children learnt all about the different parts of an apple and had fun doing apple printing!
Last Friday, Year 1 and Year 2 children enjoyed a sunny afternoon at La Ferme de Gally. After a fun bus ride — with a few children managing to squeeze in a nap — the children met the farmer, who explained how to pick two types of apple.
They loved exploring the orchards and searching from tree to tree for the best fruit. Before heading back, they discovered other fruits, vegetables and flowers grown at the farm, including enormous tomatoes that amazed everyone!
At the start of the week, Years 1 and 2 baked some delicious apple cakes using Tatie Rosette’s recipe from Le Loup qui découvrait le pays des contes. The next day, they enjoyed tasting their cakes with some refreshing homemade apple juice.
