Please see below some match reports written by our pupils in the Junior School football teams.
“The match was very exciting and fun. We had a lovely time playing at the ASP. In our first match, we lost 4-1. The highlights were our teamwork and endurance. Our defence was a bit poor and we struggled to bring the ball forward. A scored our only goal.
In our second match, we won 5–0. The highlights of game two were our improved ball control, teamwork and our communication. The players who scored in game two were A and S (who scored a goal each) and myself (two goals).
At the end, we shook hands and took a group photo.”

“Last Saturday, we played a football match against the American School of Paris (ASP).
It was a great game. Y played superbly in attack, advancing the ball quickly. S played in midfield and scored most of the goals. A played in midfield with great enthusiasm and was a great Captain, keeping our spirits up even when we were losing. Y dominated the midfield, clearing the ball when we were under pressure. L cleared the ball every time the opposing team’s best player attempted to score. H went forward a lot to stop the ball getting too close. M was outstanding in defence, tackling, dribbling and shooting the ball away. Finally, I was the goalkeeper and managed to save most of the goals!
Sadly, we lost 3–4. ASP’s last goal was a screamer, flying into the corner. We all played brilliantly and fought ferociously. It was a great game and we are looking forward to the next match! Let’s keep it up and win — go on, BSP!”

“We held a huddle to tell each other to pass the ball around, concentrate, and, most importantly, have fun. As soon as the whistle blew, we were all in action. In the third minute, I scored a goal! I scored straight into the bottom left corner, thanks to a great assist from A! Now everyone was motivated and hungry for more. Time went on, and ASP and BSP had possession for about ten minutes, until E made a magnificent through ball to A, who got ready for the power shot… goal again! It whizzed past the goalkeeper. It was now 2–0 to the BSP. After a very short time, everyone was making great passes and playing great defence. C, O and L were unbeatable and we could always rely on them. We had a counter-attack, I passed to A and then… GOAL!
The score was now 3–0 to the BSP, then 4–0, 5–0, 6–0, A and myself both scoring hat-tricks. The ASP had had enough by this point! The ASP shot, and I tried to block it, but it was too fast, and they scored!
However, the BSP still had energy, and F passed to O, who scored! The final score was 7-1. We all shook hands with the ASP, and, as the BSP Captain, I was very proud of my team. I told them how well they had played as a team, passing to each other and, most importantly, having fun.”

“Last Saturday, we played a football match against the ASP. The final score for the girls was 3–1! This incredible result was only possible thanks to our amazing team this year. If that’s not a fantastic start to the year, then what is? We can only hope to keep this winning streak going!”
