The Year 12 A Level Geography students went to La Défense on Wednesday 8th October to carry out their compulsory Local Study for Paper 2.
They were looking at the regeneration of La Défense and the extent to which it has been successful. The students will now be busy writing up their fieldwork report that will not only be an essential revision tool but also good practice for their NEA.
Many thanks to all the staff who helped support this fieldtrip.
Please see their comments below about their fieldwork experience.
“A wide range of areas were visited and studied and we were able to get proper notes which will be useful for the future Paper 2 exams.”
“I thought it was very interesting to see the different schemes La Défense has put in place to create an eco-friendlier environment for its visitors and locals. More specifically, it was very interesting to see what the transnational cooperation Total is doing with their new building project “The Link” tower to create a much more open plan, healthy, and sustainable environment for their workers while also helping tackle the ongoing climate crisis.”
“I enjoyed looking at La Défense from a Geographer’s point of view and learning about the schemes that take place to improve the surroundings for social, economic and environmental benefit.”
“This was a good look of our local central business and financial district.”
