Art
Over the past two weeks, Year 3 children have produced some fantastic work as part of their cross-
curricular ‘Oceans’ topic.
We read Dolphin Boy by Michael Morpurgo and One World by Michael Foreman, and the children used a variety of adjectives to write descriptive sentences about rock pools.
In art, we have been practising wax-resist techniques, which we will use to create a large collaborative piece with oil pastels and watercolours.
We can’t wait to see the final result!
Geology
The Year 3 children have been continuing learning about rocks in their science studies.
Showcasing their understanding of the formation of igneous, sedimentary and metamorphic rocks, they worked in small teams to dramatise each rock type’s origins.
In the weeks to come, they can look forward to performing rock density and hardness investigations and making links from their results to their knowledge of the three groups.
Super science Year 3!
