Reception children have settled into their new routines nicely and are off to a great start.
The beginning of a new year is all about making connections. More than just having fun with other children!
They are making and maintaining friendships, learning to manage emotions, negotiate and solve problems and show empathy, and all with the support of adults who might be unfamiliar. These are skills rehearsed in everyday play for our EYFS children.
Reception celebrated International Literacy Day this week with a ‘show and tell’ of their favourite story books from home in an impressive selection of home languages.
We have also been visiting the different areas of the school and meeting all the important adults who are here to support us on our learning journeys.
It is going to be a great year!
