Throughout the afternoon on which the school’s Fête de la Musique celebrations took place, Year 10 GCSE Business students were tasked with selling refreshments to Senior School students. All proceeds went towards STAND, the global charity supporting people who have lost limbs as a result of conflict or accident.
12 groups of three or four Business students were challenged with generating business ideas, planning product ranges and researching into costs incurred. The ideas were then ‘pitched’ to Business teachers, who gave the green light for these ideas to be transformed into real businesses for the duration of the afternoon.
The afternoon itself was very busy, with every business enjoying brisk trade. From all of the groups involved, four teams were selected as winners of the three categories.
The results are as follows:
Best customer service:
The Reggae Stall
Best business concept:
Tied between ‘The Blues’ and The Tiki Bar
Highest sales:
The Cookie Stall
The winners of the first two categories were selected by a group of ‘mystery shoppers’ from both Year 12 students and the teaching staff.
Congratulations to all concerned and thank you for working so hard to support such a worthwhile cause.
