Please see below an account of the Year 2’s recent trip to Thoiry Zoo, written by one of the children who attended:

On Monday, we went to Thoiry Zoo. The bus journey took an hour and the first animals we saw were meerkats. I saw one on a lookout in a tree.

Next, we went to the vivarium, where we saw anacondas, lizards and piranhas.

Next, we stopped for five minutes to play. I went on a giant slide and saw a beehive.

I pushed my cap down at first but it stopped in the middle. Then I pushed it down again.

After that, I went on a zip line and almost went upside down! Then I saw a cow but it was actually a goat with skin that looked like a cow’s. After that, we went to the tiger tunnel. We saw a lizard that, when it stood up, was about 2.5 or 1.8 metres tall!

Afterwards, we went to see the gorillas. My class and I went on a rope bridge Then we went to the black monkey cage and I saw two of them fighting. One showed me its fat, oval-shaped bottom, which made me laugh.

Finally, we saw red pandas, frogs and a tiny kangaroo. After that, we walked along the path to the parking spot where the bus was waiting for us. On the way, I rested on a rock.
