The theme for Environment Week this year was ‘Beat Plastic Pollution’. Students took part in a whole range of exciting events such as interactive workshops in Geography lessons with Camille Schmitt from REGENERATIO, a House upcycling contest, cake bake competition and sale for the Year 9 environmental charity ELLSA, plastic bottle lid mosaics, poster and bin design competitions and many more. The eco-reps worked hard to help organise all the events.
Students learnt about the importance of refusing, reducing, reusing and recycling plastic. A total of 144 euros was raised for ELLSA from the cake sale and ‘wear green accessories to school’ day. Well done to 7H who won the plastic bottle lid mosaic competition. The BSP community can all help by refusing single use plastic.
Below are the winners of the main events with 20 points for 1st place, 15 points for 2nd place and 10 points for 3rd place. Many thanks to all the staff and students who took part and are helping to have a positive impact on our planet.
