The Early Years refectory was a hive of industry on Wednesday as Year 1 children created dioramas with the help of family members who were able to join us.
One of our parents, Inger, had created some images of woodland creatures for children to use as inspiration, and many parents also enjoyed drawing animals as they helped their children.
As the children had already painted the inside of their shoeboxes, they were very keen to cut out pictures and stick them onto the base of their box to make them stand up.
They learned that they should stick shorter images at the front and taller ones at the back to get a good effect when they looked through the hole at the front.
Adding coloured cellophane to the top of the box added a magical quality to the mystical worlds that had been created.
A big thank you to everyone, it was a lovely session!
