The final LAMDA exams of the year took place on Thursday 15th and Friday 16th May.
Pupils from Year 6 to Year 11 took part, taking exams from Entry level up to Grade 6, i.e. Bronze medals.
The students demonstrated great effort, resilience and creativity throughout the LAMDA activity programme.
Although every pupil did their best, two Grade 6/Bronze medalists stood out this year.
One of our Year 10 students took her LAMDA Speaking in Public Bronze medal exam. The exam stretches the learner and the demands are tough.
She had to create an impromptu speech within 15 minutes and deliver two others she had prepared and learned.
She then had to answer difficult questions about the production of the voice, the techniques used in speeches and how she connected to her audience.
She worked extremely hard for several months and came out of the exam looking proud and relieved.
Our other Bronze medalist is a Year 11 student. She took time out of her busy GCSE schedule to present the pieces she has been working on over the past two activity sessions.
She had to perform pieces from two different time periods and chose a Shakespearean piece and a more modern piece.
Her questions were difficult with reference to objectives, breathing and plot. It looks as though she has done very well.
Unfortunately, as with the other exams, we will now have to wait up to 6 weeks for the results.
We wish them the very best of luck!
