This week, as part of their history project, Year 4 visited the impressive Château of Versailles. They walked around the manicured gardens, listened to classical music and enjoyed the spectacular fountain displays.

Here’s what our students had to say about the trip:

“I enjoyed visiting Marie Antoinette’s bedroom. It was interesting to see rooms from such a long time ago.”

“I really liked the picnic and I loved the paintings because they were so realistic.”

“The fountain show was amazing because all the water was synchronised with the music.”

“I cannot believe that I was walking in the same place as Louis XIV!”

“The château was sumptuously decorated with great attention to detail. It was impressive how big it was.”

“I enjoyed the fountains, which moved in time to classical music.”

“My favourite part was the Hall of Mirrors. We could see our reflections in the mirrors.”

“I really enjoyed the gold, regal interior, the Queen’s giant bed and the great feathers on top of King Louis’ bed.”

“I loved the paintings because they showed the history of Versailles.”

To sum it up, a fabulous time was had by all the children and staff!
