What a treat we had on Tuesday afternoon. Irish music with master bodhran maker Brendan White and the Irish group with Pierre Gilles, Daniel, Katell and one of our staff.

We learnt how to make and play a bodhran. It is like a round drum but typical of traditional Irish music. Reels and jigs were played to the driving beat of the bodhran.

We enjoyed hearing the sounds of the tin whistle, bouzouki, diatonic accordion and fiddle.

EYFS and KS1 children could not resist dancing, twirling and jumping around the room with their teachers.

A very memorable musical moment, and we would like to thank Brendan White and the musicians for giving the children this unique opportunity to discover the music of Ireland.
