As part of the GCSE Business course our pupils study stakeholders.
When introducing this topic, using the BSP as an example, our pupils had little idea of the role governors play as stakeholders in the school and were surprised to hear that they are not paid for their work!
Character Education is an important initiative within the BSP and has several key aims, one of which is to ensure that our pupils leave us with an awareness of others whilst in positions of responsibility.
To further this aim, three of our governors gave some of their time during a recent visit to the school to meet the class, explain their roles and responsibilities and answer any questions, of which there were many.
We hope that our pupils will eventually give back to society in a similarly meaningful way.
Thanks to Mr Coutts, Chair of the Board of Governors, Mr Smith and Mr Mulheirn for their detailed and interesting talk.
