The Senior School celebrated Children’s Book Week by getting into sleuthing mode. During Tuesday’s assembly, breaking news interrupted Mrs Tomlinson’s “exciting” presentation about the “Benefits of Boredom” when a newscaster announced that the body of Mr Boddy was found on BSP grounds.
Luckily, Inspector Inkblot was on hand to try to solve the mystery – unfortunately, he is not the sharpest detective so he needed some help. However, he did have the possible murder locations, the weapons and the suspects narrowed down and he had cards ready for each category – Suspect, Weapon and Location. One of each was secretly chosen and placed in a sealed envelope to be opened next week.
Was it Professor Pamela Peach in the Library with the ping pong paddle? Or was it Sir Jasper Sterling on the Large Green Pitch with a tarantula? Maybe it was Reverend Bartholomew Brown in the Headmaster’s Office with the protractor?
Inspector Inkblot needed some help so he, of course, asked the smartest people on campus: the students.
During the week, using their Cluedo Checklists, students went around asking staff if they had any Cluedo cards so they could narrow it down to the correct Suspect, Weapon and Location. Hopefully, they have come up with the right answers – we will find out during next Tuesday’s assembly and will make an arrest.
They also spent the week playing detective-inspired games, trying to win books, participating in the Detective Relay Race Challenge (Years 7, 8 and 9) and Cracking the Code (Years 10, 11, 12 and 13). Many students earned House points, received a little treat or won prizes. The whole week was Sleuth-erific!
