On Saturday, there was a girls football tournament at the American School of Paris (ASP).

The day started with grey clouds and a drizzle as we warmed up with a few dribbling and passing drills. Then it was time to be divided into teams by Mrs McNabb and Mrs D Matthews.

One of the teachers from ASP announced who was playing who for the first game. There were 5 teams in the tournament: ISP, ASP, German School of Paris, a local French team, and BSP. It was a round robin format.

Our first game was against ASP. In the pouring rain, BSP1 battled hard but lost. The sun soon came out and lifted our spirits.

Although we had never played together as a team before, we worked together and got better with each game. We finished 4th out of 6 with 1 win, 1 draw and 3 losses. We all got medals for all our hard work and effort.

Below are diary excerpts from two of our students:

“The 2025 Football Tournament was amazing and it was a pleasure to meet and play against other schools such as the ASP, ISP and ESP. Our team worked very well and we tried our best but unfortunately we came 4th.”

“On Saturday 29th March,we had the Girls Football Festival at the ASP. Even though we did not win the 1st place we had a great time. We were all very happy! When we had our first round it was raining, but we still had a good time! Spending a Saturday morning playing football against other schools is actually quite fun. Some of the teams were difficult to play against and they scored a lot of goals, but we played very well against them. All of the teams tried hard and enjoyed it. The parents on the sidelines cheered the teams on and encouraged us. They really made a big difference and we all got a medal!”
