My Freedom Day – spreading awareness of, and campaigning against, modern day forms of slavery.

Thank you so much to everyone who took part in the Freedom Run and the tug-of-war on Thursday. As you can see from the pictures it was a lot of fun.

Students also signed the Freedom Wall, finishing the phrase “freedom is…”. For example “freedom is happiness, freedom is hope or freedom is the BSP!”. A particular favourite was ” freedom is not being fearful of showing your perspective.”

Challenging Heights

Challenging Heights, the Year 8 charity, is an anti-slavery charity based in Ghana.

Year 8 students managed to raise €308 on Friday at their cake sale.

An enormous thank you to all students and parents who baked cakes to raise this impressive amount. This sum will be doubled with money raised from the Community Shop.

Challenging Heights rescues and educates young children forced into a childhood of slavery in Ghana’s fishing industry. We must, however, remember that modern slavery exists in every country in the world.

My Freedom Run in aid of Challenging Heights

Well done to everyone who participated in the run to raise awareness for My Freedom Day yesterday.

The day consisted of a 3.14km (to mark Pi Day) and a 5km run.

It was a beautiful but chilly afternoon for a run, jog or walk along the banks of the River Seine to promote this excellent cause.
