6th Form
History and Politics students benefited from a worthwhile and enjoyable trip to London last weekend. We listened to two stimulating talks/Q&As with the Head of the National Security College based in the Cabinet Office and with the Conflict Resolution team at the Foreign Office. For the many students who are thinking about degrees in related fields this proved to be an invaluable experience. We also enjoyed a debate in the House of Lords and a tour around the Houses of Parliament. A particular highlight was a workshop at the Royal Court of Justice which took us through the workings of the High Court.
The play Oedipus Rex, in the West End, arguably created the most comment! If you know the story then you will understand why. Amazing performances by a star studded cast.
Students also enjoyed an alumni event which brought together ex-students who also studied History and/or Politics at the BSP. This proved a great event for current students to get a sense of places to go and what to study at university. Not to mention the discussions around the array of jobs our alumni are now pursuing. The “oldest” student there left in 2005 so we literally had 20 years of BSP experience in a very lively room.
