The Duke of Edinburgh’s International Award Bronze participants set out early on Saturday 4th May to embark upon their Qualifying Journeys through the forests and hills of the Morvan region. Each team member, carrying a fully packed rucksack approximately one fourth of their body weight, had previously identified aims to pursue during their journey. Although it rained non-stop, they all successfully found their way to the campsite using their compasses and predetermined routes. Having arrived they then set up their tents, cooked and ate their meals before settling down for a long rainy night. Sunday morning, they headed off once more for another full day of journeying, luckily under dry and sunnier skies. All teams are working towards their Bronze Award in the hope that they receive their certificates at our Awards ceremony in June.
