Continuing with our theme of preparing for life post BSP, we were delighted to welcome guest speaker Mr Antonie Claassen.

Mr Claassen, with 6 caps for the XV French rugby team and an impressive sporting background in professional rugby spoke to our students on the the topic of teamwork,  and the importance of preparation for what is to come: a period of transition. Mr Claassen himself made the transition from a career in professional sport to achieving an MBA from HEC in France, and now works with Canal+.

Mr Claassen spoke at length on the importance of honesty, how we can improve with feedback, motivation and discipline, and the recognition of a final objective: what is your aim? What is the goal you are trying to achieve? Mr Claassen stressed the importance of trust if you are to work as a team: on the field, each player has to trust that his/her teammates are also working towards a shared goal.

The importance of truth, knowing yourself, sharing values and honest communication have been themes which have run through our last few presentations for 6th formers as a preparation for life after the BSP, and we were delighted that Mr Claassen was able to communicate these values to our young adults.
