Year 1 children started a new topic called Flight and Space and they got off to a ‘flying’ start by meeting a real life pilot!
Captain Greg (looking super smart in his pilot’s uniform) told us all about his job and lots of interesting facts about aeroplanes.
Here are some of the things that we found out:
“Two people are needed to fly the plane in case one of them needs to use the toilet.” Youssef.
“The cockpit has the same buttons on both sides.” Olivia.
“There is a lever, you pull it up to go up and push down to go down.” Keziah.
“You have to put petrol in the wings.” Timisola.
“A plane needs a propeller or engine to fly.” Mariya.
