Year 4 Trip to Versailles

Year 4 children stepped back in time on Tuesday to learn about “The Sun King of Versailles”, with a visit to the Château of Louis XIV. After a picnic in the gardens, the children were lead on a guided tour inside, where they learned about the daily routine of Louis XIV and how the life of the court revolved around him. The children were fascinated by the information and definitely kept our guide on her toes with their many questions and ideas. We were particularly fortunate to be able to go into the Chapel and sit in the same spot where many of the King’s ancestors and their wives celebrated weddings, baptisms and funerals. The children had a great day and returned to school tired but with minds packed full of information and memories.
