KS3 Outdoor Education Week 2023
“Having the Year 9 trip right after exams was not an easy task. Having to fit in packing and studying was stressful, yet it was rewarding. The trip was really fun, full of activities that some have not done before, learning new skills, and bonding with friends. And anytime we felt like giving up, we had people around us to keep us going.
Some of the activities included biking, via ferrata, rafting and hiking/climbing. By doing these activities we learnt new skills and life lessons such as facing your fears, never giving up, trusting yourself as well as other people, and having a strong mind to guide you through your struggles.
This was a great experience, and we are grateful to all who gave us this amazing opportunity. We hope those who come to this trip after us will take with them some life lessons as we did, and had fun!” – Iyanu and Anna, Year 9
“The trip was a wonderful experience where I learnt how to overcome obstacles and face fears. All of the activities were very challenging but there was nothing you couldn’t challenge yourself to do. This trip really changed all of us and made us more independent and Jerry’s stories inspired us to be more like him! Overall, the trip was something that I would definitely want to experience again.” – Sofia, Year 9
