Bronze Qualifying expedition to Pierrefonds
The Duke of Edinburgh’s International Award Bronze participants all embarked on their Qualifying Journeys on Saturday 13th May, starting out early in the morning to begin their trek through the forests of Pierrefonds and the Compiègne region. Each team, carrying fully packed rucksacks approximately one fourth of their body weight, had previously identified aims to pursue while on their journeys. By the end of Saturday, they all had successfully found their way to the campsite, using compasses and their predetermined map routes. They were then able to relax and have a little fun before cooking dinner with their trangia stoves and finally settling down in their tents for the night. Sunday morning, they headed off once more for another full day of journeying. Every team worked together brilliantly to complete their Qualifying Expeditions and are now one step closer to earning their Bronze Awards. Well done, Bronze!
