Year 4 Trip to Versailles
Year 4 had an amazing trip to Versailles this week. In the morning, we toured the gardens and grounds on a mini train. This gave us the opportunity to see all of the grounds of Versailles. We loved visiting the book shop as they had some fabulous books and we even found some in English! After the train tour we walked past the fountains to eat lunch in the King’s garden. The King’s garden is an English garden so it has a different feeling to the rest of the park. It was very quiet in that part of the garden, it was just Year 4 and a very sociable red squirrel.
In the afternoon, we had a guided tour of the King’s apartments. The tour started in the chapel where we found out that Louis XIV had 4000 nobles. We then visited the other rooms and found out that each room is named after a different god. The tour guide was amazed by our knowledge and how much we knew about Louis XIV, his predecessors and the French Revolution.
