GCSE & A Level Drama Trip
The subject of Drama is often viewed as a practical subject where students perform and create theatre for assessment. While this is indeed true, there is also a strong emphasis on the academic practice of analysis and evaluation. In order to fulfil this element of both the GCSE and A-Level courses, students must visit the theatre and watch a live performance to write about in their exam.
This year we were delighted that Covid restrictions had been lifted and we were able to offer an amazing trip to London’s West End. The students were thrilled and excited by the musical ‘Matilda’, and terrified by the famous ghost story ‘The Woman in Black’. They also took part in two acting workshops, one of which took place on the actual set of ‘The Woman in Black’!
The students learned valuable skills which they will take forward into their studies.
