Signing the Queen’s Book of Condolence
On Wednesday, pupils from the Junior and Senior Schools visited the British Embassy in honour of Queen Elizabeth II.
The pupils rode on a coach to the Embassy and were greeted by the Deputy British Ambassador, Theo Rycroft. The children and staff then stood around the flowers left for the late Queen to listen to Chrissie, Year 11, read Poet Laureate Simon Armitage’s poem “Floral Tribute”.
Edward – “It was a memorable experience, because it was a once in a lifetime opportunity where I felt I had one last connection with the Queen.”
Rory – “I spent a long time thinking and writing about my message for the Queen, I am pleased I was able to write in the book.”
Zoha – “It was a wonderful time when I signed the book of condolences and when we laid down the bunch of flowers.”
Joshua – “It was a poignant experience when I wrote in the book of condolences.”
The accompanying staff were extremely impressed by the impeccable behaviour of the pupils and their handling of this important event. They were a credit to The British School of Paris and embodied our school values impressively.
