Queen Elizabeth II (1926-2022)
Nicholas Hammond, Headmaster, said:
It is with great sorrow that The British School of Paris community learned of the death of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II.
Over the coming days tributes will be paid to this remarkable individual who has provided consistency and wise counsel for both the nation and its people. As a school community she has been a role model for our young people, demonstrating through her actions integrity of the highest order. Throughout her long reign Her Majesty put service at the heart of all her endeavours. She promoted peaceful interactions between nations and demonstrated an unwavering commitment to the promotion of understanding between people of all nations.
Our thoughts and condolences are with her family who have lost a mother, grandmother, and great grandmother, their guiding light is no more. We join in with United Kingdom and Commonwealth communities in celebrating this extraordinary life and solemnly mourning her passing. Her influence will continue from a different shore and under a greater light.
As HRH Charles, heir to the throne, assumes his new responsibilities as monarch our thoughts are with him and the wider Royal Family.
Eric Coutts, Chairman of the Board of Governors, added:
The Governors of the British School of Paris express their sadness at the death of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II, the longest reigning monarch in British history, and pay tribute to a lifetime of devoted service.
