Ceremony at the Arc de Triomphe
On Thursday 2nd June, fifteen Year 5 and Year 6 pupils took part in an incredibly special and poignant event to celebrate the Queen’s Platinum Jubilee at the Arc de Triomphe. This special ‘Ravivage de la flamme’ was organised to celebrate 70 years of the Queen’s reign.
The President of France, Emmanuel Macron, along with his wife Brigitte and the British Ambassador to France, Dame Menna Rawlings, attended the rekindling of the flame. All three important figures spoke to the children and we even appeared on French television!
Mr Hammond, Mr Potter, Miss Wassell and Mrs Keefe were very impressed with the outstanding behaviour of the BSP pupils who attended the event.
This was certainly an evening to remember!
